Holy Fuck was recorded at a preschool in the Midwest during Christmas break of 2015/2016. I (Werner) mixed it off and on for about a year. Micah helped a bit. Jon only likes vaping and his dogs, so he didn't do anything except beat the hell out of the drums. The whole thing took forever because we're lazy and mostly just wanted to talk about that "Most Brutal Metal Scream 2012" YouTube video.
Patrick Gilligan was on the first two YI albums but he quit so he could move to Chicago and marry his girlfriend or something dumb shit. As we started writing this record before he left, I should give credit where it's due and state that he stumbled around us jamming on "Liquorball Sandwiches" and somehow wrote a simplified version of the rhythm riff in the second and fourth (or whatever) parts of the song.
I mostly used my Ampeg VT-22 and a pile of effects (Fulltone Fulldrive 2, TC Electronic Spark Booster, Catalinbread SFT, Blackarts Toneworks Pharaoh, etc), for the guitars, though plenty of parts are doubled with an Orange Dual Terror and/or a Vox AC15. I used mostly a Fender CP Jazzmaster and a Kramer DMZ2000, though I'm sure my Explorer with a '59 in the bridge was laying around somewhere. Some overdubs were done on Amplitube because fuck it.
Micah used a Schecter bass and either some broken-ass Peavey stuff or some broken-ass Hartke stuff. He knows what he's doing, though, so he can make anything sound good.
Jon's drums are black, I think.
Carl Saff at Saff Mastering in Chicago mastered this in February 2017.
